Kenya women will face Zambia in a 20-Goal-international match at Nairobi Polo Club on Saturday.

Prior to the match, the Zambians will be allowed to test the Kenyan horses in the Kenya International match that involves local players before the final match on Sunday.

The Kenyan team is led led by international captain Izzy Voorspuy as an eight goaler, Tiva Gross (6), Megan Griffiths (4) and Izzy Stichbury (3).

The Kenyans need to win the match to keep the pride of Kenyan polo high in Africa after their male counterparts lost 6-5 to Zimbabwe at Thorn-Park Polo Club in Harare two weeks back.

The main worry for coach Pete Griffiths is that the quartet has not played together since their selection last weekend.

He said they’ll be forced to apply past individual experience to achieve a positive performance against the Zambians.

“Their individual experience will count in this match after their selection last Sunday,” Griffiths told Standard Sports.

The Zambians include team captain and five goaler Sally Jellis, Mary Jellis and Sally who is a four goaler, Pammy Greenshields (4) and Emily Patterson (4).

The Kenyan side is a 21-Goal-Side while the Zambians are a 17-Goal side, meaning the Zambians will start the match at the advantage of four goals.

The Kenyan teams have been dominant in Africa over powerhouses like South Africa and Zimbabwe for the past few years and it will not be different to the Zambians.

KENYA – Captain Izzy Voorspuy (8), Tiva Gross (6), Megan Griffiths (4) and Izzy Stichbury (3).
